Tinker-Miles

Miles the Inventor.
Always creating some undiscovered necessity.
So what is it???
It's a "schonner pick."
A very useful tool for "picking flowers out of fields so tractors don't get sick."
Something every farmer needs.
And every growing inventor needs tinker toys!

Visions of 2022

My mom bought this little corvette from a garage sale down the block recently. I knew Miles would LOVE it! But it seriously made me a bit nervous of what's to come in 13 years! Notice poor James' nervous look?

Yep, James got in right away while Miles was learning to drive...

...and got out quickly when he crashed into my car! He would have nothing more to do with riding with Miles! And I don't blame him, that little car left a mark!

But Miles eventually got the hang of it, and we found a slower gear.

Oh did I mention the radio? Yep, found myself yelling about keeping his eyes on the road and not playing with the stereo. Oh the visions!

Favorite Childrens Books

Right, we have a pretty great library of children's books! We (alright maybe, I) seriously seem to go overboard on certain things. But really, can you ever have enough good books? And my kids love them hard (as you can tell by the photos). These are a few of our favorites...
The Little Engine That Could
~ just a classic I picked up when Miles went through a "I can't" stage.
Tip Tip Dig Dig
~ an easy book for kids to memorize and read along.
Llama Llama Red Pajama
~ we have two llama books and they are adorable and fun to read!
Mommy in My Pocket
~ This one is about going to school and missing mom, but we used it when Miles was having a hard time starting a new daycare.
Where's the Poop?
~ I'm pretty sure the staff at Barnes and Noble were ready to call security on me. I was laughing so hard reading this one in the store. It's a bit disgusting, a lift the flap and find the animal poo book but if you have kids, it's funny.
Little Hoot
~ Quite a cute twist on not wanting to go to bed...
I Love You Through and Through
~ a great book for learning body parts and how they work while loving on your little one.
The Belly Button Book
~ Sandra Boyton books are always fun to read!
You Are Special
~ I highly recommend this one for any age!! The story is a great one- a must have (enough said).
Moo Baa LaLaLa
~ another great rhyming Boyton book!
My Truck is Stuck!
~ a favorite of my boys!! James has this one memorized and reads it to himself!

You can never read enough to your kids. I hope they continue to love reading as much as I do!!

Lazy Saturday

Last Saturday we had a much needed lazy day!
Carver has grown fast! He's only 5 months old!!

This past Tuesday Carver and I attended our first obedience class. I'm not sure who was more tired...

Just trying to put his size in perspective.

My ever growing big guy. He's been asking some pretty tough questions these days.
Miles: "Mommy, when we move into our new house can I go to heaven and live with God?"
Mommy: "Well, I was kind of hoping you'd stick around with us a few more years."
Miles: "But I want to meet God."
Mommy: "Well you can talk to Him anytime... He's always with you."
Miles: (with tears in his eyes) "But Mommy, I want to see what He looks like!"
Oh My!
The next day Miles said he had a headache and went to his bedroom to lay down. About 15 minutes later he came out of his room and said, "Mommy, I closed my eyes and saw God!"
Mommy: "Wow, you saw God?"
Miles: "Yes and He put my head bones back together and made my head feel better!"
Mommy: "God is good Miles."

And just like Miles did, James has started hoarding toys! Here's the pile he made in living room! On Sunday morning we were blessed with a overflowing closet of toys!
